The Fire Regulatory Reform Order places a responsibility on the building custodian to have in place a Fire Risk Assessment which has been completed by a ‘competent’ person. This Risk Assessment must be produced when required by a Fire Officer or any Council Fire Inspector
This person may be called upon to demonstrate why they are regarded as a competent and we strongly recommend that those who compile and authorise such reports take steps to ensure due diligence and satisfy themselves that they are indeed competent.
