The course takes three full days and uses the very latest in multimedia presentation, combining theory with hands-on practical and role-play exercises. All individuals who are successful in passing this course will receive an industry recognised HSE recognised First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for 3 years. At the end of the course candidates will be competent in the following:

- Using a First Aid kit
- Simple record keeping

- Treatment of an unconscious casualty

- Treatment of a heart attack

- Burns and scalds Poisoning
- Fractures
- Shock
Who should attend?
Any person who has been designated by their employer as a first aider at work. All employers in the UK have a legal obligation under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 to make First Aid provision for their employees.

Assessment
Practical skills test by external assessor.
Certificate
An HSE-Recognised certificate valid for three years is issued on completion of assessment.
Before expiry of this certificate, students must undertake a two-day HSE Approved Refresher course, which will then re-authorise their certification for a further three years. Students are strongly recommended by the HSE to undertake a short 3 hour refresher course at the 12 and 24 month point
Students of the Three Day First Aid at Work and the Two-Day Refresher course will receive a high quality and appropriate First Aid Manual.
